Senior Project Manager (m/f/d)

  • Remote

  • Project Management

Job description

Our Hetzner Cloud team of around 80 people works both remotely across Germany and from our office in Munich (Unterföhring).

The Project Management team sets the standards, processes, and guidelines for how we run projects, and makes sure they actually land in day-to-day work. Working hand in hand with the development teams, we turn strategy into delivery, keep things structured without slowing them down, and help every project ship with quality and consistency.

To help coordinate our software development projects, we're looking for you as a Senior Project Manager (m/f/d). You'll support our product and software teams in understanding requirements early, structuring them cleanly, and shaping them into work that can realistically be planned and delivered. You are the link between strategic goals, business requirements, and technical delivery.

You won't be working alone in this role: you'll work closely with the PMO, the department leads, and the product and development teams, support the people responsible for projects within each team, and develop our requirements engineering practices together with them. At times you'll also work directly inside teams, accompanying initiatives from the first idea through to delivery. Continuous improvement (CIP) is a permanent part of how you work.

Good software development needs more than strong technical teams. It needs clear requirements, a shared picture of the goal, and transparent grounds for decisions. You'll help us build exactly that foundation, so teams can work with more focus, spot dependencies earlier, and plan their initiatives more reliably.

The annual salary for this position is between €84,000 and €101,000 gross. The exact salary level will be determined based on professional experience and the scope of responsibilities.

What you’ll do

  • You gather, analyse, structure, and document business and technical requirements across our software projects

  • You support the product and development teams in clarifying goals, scope, dependencies, and open questions

  • You translate strategic objectives into clear requirements that make effort, priorities, and risks easier to assess

  • You facilitate coordination between the PMO, department leads, product owners, and technical teams

  • You develop our requirements engineering methods, standards, and templates further in the spirit of CIP

  • You work directly in projects from time to time, creating transparency and predictability without limiting the teams' own ownership

Job requirements

  • You bring hands-on experience in requirements engineering, product ownership, project management, or a comparable role in a software environment, a background in software development is equally welcome, and certifications are not a requirement

  • You understand software development processes and how things fit together technically

  • You get to the bottom of complex topics, structure them, and present them clearly, including in environments that keep changing

  • You communicate and facilitate confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders, combining assertiveness with a diplomatic touch

  • You work analytically, methodically, independently, and with a focus on solutions, and you have a good instinct for dependencies, risks, and priorities

  • You speak and write German and English fluently
